We have been surveying the fields since last Saturday as they were showing excessive wear that can lead to unsafe playing conditions. We still have standing water on some of the fields at Cheadle.  Other fields at Cheadle closely resemble a bog.   At Timber Linn there is an excessive amount of water on one of the large fields and the remaining fields have too much saturation.  

The city will not be mowing Cheadle because they do not want to cause more damage to the fields than necessary with the saturation levels as high as they are, and they will only continue to increase with the forecasted rain that will continue to pour down.

In the concern of safe play, the board has discussed and decided that because of the hazards of play along with the excessive damage we will do to the fields we are canceling all games for Region 870 for May 7th.

The last core game will still be Saturday May 14th where we will be able to hand out end-of-the-year medals to coaches to give to their players.

Soccerfest will be Saturday May 21st.  Plan for this to be an all-day event.  Consider it a day of camping and watching a lot of kids playing a lot of short games of soccer on smaller fields than in a normal season.

Coaches and Team Parents please email and /or text your whole team to confirm that they know about the cancellation for tomorrow.

Extra Preview will be cancelled for this Friday as these practices are held at the game fields.
